Gil GAIGNAIRE
Honorary lawyer
Gil GAIGNAIRE holds a DES in Private Law, obtained in 1976 from the University of Aix-en-Provence. He was immediately drawn to international contracts at a time when French industry began significantly expanding its export activities.
His career started as a corporate lawyer in Paris with GTM International in the construction sector, where he focused on the contractual aspects of international tenders, preparation, and negotiation of offers and contracts related to significant civil engineering or building projects in France and abroad.
His experience in managing these contracts led him to acquire solid knowledge in related areas such as subcontracting, procurement, intellectual property, claims management, disputes, arbitrations, and settlements.
He continued his career at the legal department of DASSAULT INTERNATIONAL, where he applied his experience in the aerospace sector, managing legal aspects of aircraft sales, maintenance contracts, supply agreements, and industrial subcontracting, always overseeing the execution and legal management of each contract.
Gil GAIGNAIRE then worked for over 15 years as the legal director at COMEX SERVICES (later STOLT COMEX SEAWAY), a group that conducted over 95% of its business abroad. This position allowed him to address all aspects of business law directly and pragmatically with senior management: international tenders, offshore service and construction contracts, maritime law, subcontracting, negotiations, joint ventures, and more.
In 1996, Gil GAIGNAIRE transitioned to private practice as a lawyer, leveraging his extensive experience to offer flexible, outsourced legal services to businesses that did not have in-house legal departments.
Together with Edouard BOUSQUET, he founded the GBA law firm in 1998.
Since then, the firm has expanded significantly, diversifying its client base and areas of expertise within business law.
In 2020, Gil GAIGNAIRE sold his stake in the SELARL GAIGNAIRE BOUSQUET ABRAM law firm,
but he continues to share his expertise with clients and pass on his knowledge of international contracts, particularly offshore contracts, to the firm’s attorneys.
